Our museum’s photo holdings are enlarged by 223 images from the home collection of Pavel Perelomov (c. 1901–1964), donated by his daughter Ernestina Perelomova.
Pavel Perelomov worked as a photographer for Tsarskoe Selo during 1934 to 1941. His pictures include interiors of the Catherine and Alexander Palaces and views of the parks, as well as small register shots of museum objects for inventory cards.
Of special importance are the images capturing the objects lost during the Nazi occupation of Tsarskoe Selo in the Second World War and the architectural decorations of the Alexander Palace’s rooms, which have been undergoing large-scale restoration.
