November 11th marked 100 years since the end of the First World War or the Great War, which lasted over four years from 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918.
Opened in August 2014 at the Martial Chamber of Tsarskoe Selo, our permanent display Russia in the Great War became the first museum in Russia dedicated to one of the most tragic periods in world history.
Over these four years the display in the Martial Chamber has expanded to the upper level of the building and now offers nearly two thousand exhibits on almost 960 square meters.
Commemorating the centenary of the Great War’s end, a Tree of Peace was recently planted near the museum as part of a large international project.
