We invite you to participate in the 19th Tsarskoye Selo Academic Conference
Suppliers to the Imperial Court of Russia
dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the accession to the throne
of Mikhail Fiodorovich, the first tsar of the Romanov royal dynasty
the Catherine Palace of Tsarskoye Selo, 25–27 November 2013
Our conference on suppliers and supplies to the Russian Imperial Courts will cover topics related to the history of the birth of the traditional goods supply to the Court; the Russian State Emblem on products and signage; the honorary titles (court jeweler, court photographer, etc) and their conferment rules; the official suppliers, their products and most interesting items that were an important part of court life.
We hope this Conference will acquaint the scientific world community with new names, events and artworks and contribute to further research on Russian history.
The Conference proceedings will be published by the Conference opening.
May 15, 2013 – Deadline for application form submission (should be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org). Your application (page 3 of the file available for downloading below at the bottom of this page) should be completed in Russian or English and contain your first and last names, current occupation and workplace, academic paper title, contact phone and e-mail address.
July 1, 2013 – Deadline for academic paper submission (should be in Russian and e-mailed to email@example.com).
Academic Paper Requirements
(Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject papers
not conforming to theme and/or requirements)
Should be based on previously unpublished materials;
In Russian, 8–10 pages in Word format, font size 14, one-and-a-half spaced text, notes at the end;
Up to 5–6 annotated illustrations (300 dpi).
Presentation Rules & Language
Each oral presentation should be limited to 20 minutes. Oral presentations in other languages than Russian have to be accompanied with PowerPoint presentations translated into Russian.
Accommodation & Transport Expenses
The Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Preserve will cover three-day accommodation for out-of-town conferees at Hotel Ekaterina in the Catherine Palace’s left semicircular wing. Travel fares and transport expenses have to be borne by conferees.
