8–31 July 2017 the Island on the Great Pond of the Catherine Park hosts the Palmyra in Time and Space exhibition.
The temporary display outside the Hall on the Island pavilion showcases a reduced replica of Queen Zenobia’s ten-metre column destroyed in Palmyra. The replica is based on a 3D model and provided by St Petersburg’s Institute for the History of Material Culture (Russian Academy of Sciences).
The exhibit also includes works by the military photographer Evgeny Kel, showing some Palmyrene notable structures before and after the ISIL terrorist invasion.
The exhibition is available to visitors using the Great Pond Ferry Service and may be prolonged.
